According to the IRS's green initiative, as of January 1, 2011 banks will no longer be allowed to accept payments for your payroll taxes. This strategy of saving one piece of paper is more of a strategy to force taxpayers to pay electronically as opposed to by check.
Employers will have to pay their payroll taxes via the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS). Setting up your account with the IRS is inefficient, but once it is done, it is pretty easy to use the system. You can find more info and sign-up at www.eftps.com or contact us at www.fasocpa.com
